TRAINING FOR MEDICAL AND SOCIAL WORKERS

Training sessions on the topic “Implementation of the Instructions for Social Protection/Healthcare Workers Responding to Domestic Violence Cases”  are to be conducted from 5 to 20 August, for national medical and social workers of the within the framework of the joint action plan of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Branch of the GOPA mbH in the Republic of Tajikistan, under the auspices of the PDV Project funded by the Government of Switzerland. The training sessions are to be carried out in the Republican Educational and Clinical Center for Nursing and the Regional Center for Statistics and Information of the Sogd Province. It is envisaged that 200 specialists will be trained, of which 100 specialists (50 medical and 50 social workers) from Sogd Province and 100 specialists (50 medical and 50 social workers) from the Rasht valley districts (Lyakhsh, Rasht, Tavildara, Sangvor and Nurabad).

Earlier, in February this year, 250 employees representing medical and social institutions from Kulyab and Kurgan-Tube districts of Khatlon province have already undergone a similar training.

Instructions for social protection/health care workers on responding to the cases of domestic violence were approved on May 11, 2018, # 443, by the Order of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population. More than 7000 copies of the Instructions were distributed in the medical and preventive institutions and social care units of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population throughout the country.
